Cardiff City Ladies emphatically beat Aberystwyth Town Ladies 8-0 in a friendly at the Centre for Sporting Excellence. Goal scorers on the day included a hat-trick by Cori Williams, a brace by Jasmine Turner, one a piece by Kylie Nolan and Olivia Thompson and an own goal.

Despite the end result, it was the visitors who started brighter and almost scored within the first five minutes. A missed placed pass at the back from the hosts allowed Hannah Puley to go in on goal, however she saw her strike rattle and bounce back off the crossbar.

Following the early scare, Cardiff began to assert their dominance and minutes later scored a goal for themselves through a simple tap in by Jasmine Turner.

On 22 minutes, Turner and Cardiff scored their second goal, in very similar circumstances, after great build up play down the right by Kylie Nolan.

In the closing stages of the first half, the home side scored a third goal as Olivia Thompson slotted home.

In the second half, it did not take long until Cardiff scored their fourth goal as Nolan deservedly got in on the act. Nolan was terrific all game with her movement and burst of pace a constant threat to the visitors.

Eight minutes later it got even better for the hosts as substitute Cori Williams made an instant impact and fired home a header from close range.

Within 13 minutes, Williams spectacularly scored a hat-trick as Cardiff City Ladies extended their lead to seven.

In the final few minutes of the game, Aberystwyth were unfortunate to concede yet again as their last defender diverted the ball into their own net, capping off a poor performance.

Following the end of the fire break lockdown in Wales, Cardiff City Ladies will be delighted to come back to action with a convincing win.
